7% and Rising by Kim Knox is the story of Cahn and Roen. Cahn is a Level Seven Observer and she has to travel back 700 years to ensure the continuation of the timeline. She needs to get in and get out unnoticed, but things don’t go as planned when she runs into Roen. Now a known traitor, Roen needs Cahn’s help to uncover a conspiracy to alter the timeline. Cahn has loved Roen since she was a teen, but after his rejections, she isn’t eager to help. After giving in, she finds out things are more complicated then they seem.

Roen and Cahn are characters I enjoyed reading about. Neither of them is perfect, and it makes it easier to feel for them. Roen is scarred and even with old injuries, he does what he has to do. I have to admit this story was confusing, and I really didn’t know what was going on. Things aren’t explained as well as I had hoped, and the timeline and parallel clones make things more complicated then they need be. I felt like I was missing some information. Even so, I was able to enjoy the story and Cahn and Roen made it a worthwhile read.
