Lover’s Talisman

Stephan is a Shadow Walker, a warrior who fights vampires, demons, and other evil creatures. He helps keep Talisman Bay a safe place, and has no time for love. Then once he rescues Mariah, everything changes. Mariah has no interest in being with any man, after the harsh past she has had. She runs from Stephan before giving into her desires. Then her best friend, Twyla, is kidnapped and she knows he is the only one who can help her. Now, forced to stay with him for safety, Mariah is thrust into more trouble than she, or he, imagined.

Lover’s Talisman by Ashleigh Raine is a story that is hard to put down. Throughout all of it, I was anxiously waiting to see what would happen next. Stephan and Marian are strong characters who aren’t perfect, but are charming in their own ways. Mariah is a stripper who is so bitter towards men she has been celibate for five years. She isn’t a clinging, emotional heroine who can’t stand up for her self. She’s likeable and you want her to be happy. Stephan is sexy, dark, and mysterious, although he wants nothing to do with love after seeing what it did to his brother, Marlin. Even with major obstacles between them, they come together, and the chemistry between them is strong. Aside from the two main characters, all the secondary characters had something about them to love. That is of course aside from the bad guy, though, even he was sexy in a bad, evil, and scary kind of way. Marlin, Dusty, Ryan, Jake, and Fiero are the other Shadow Walkers. They each have their own personality and something about them makes you want to see them get the happily ever after they deserve. Throw in Twyla and Freeze and the story has no boring parts. Ashleigh Raine did a fantastic job, and I hope the greatness just keeps coming.
