Elizabeth Davenport’s heart had been ripped to shreds by Cal Roberts four years ago. She has finally started to move on with her life when Cal rides back into town. Recently engaged, the last thing she needs is a complication like Cal. Even though she knows she isn’t in love with her fiancé, she thinks he represents stability whereas Cal up and left with not even so much as a goodbye four years ago. No matter what her heart is feeling, she can’t let Cal hurt her again.

Cal has come back for many reasons and one of them is Beth. He never stopped loving her, and he knows she still feels the same. He intends to show her how good they can be together. He didn’t expect her to be engaged. Her fiancé isn’t going to give her up without a fight, and he doesn’t care who gets hurt, even if it’s Elizabeth. Her money is all that is important to him.

Wanton Surrender has a little bit of everything for every reader. Love, lust, mystery and suspense all rolled up into one very lusty novel. I found myself rooting for the love of this couple and hoping the bad guy would get what he deserved. Cal shows an undying devotion to the woman he wronged. Elizabeth is trying to keep her pride and not let her heart be broken again. The suspense kept this reader on the edge of her seat wondering what would happen next. The characters mesh well throughout. Ms. Kerce has a winner here.
