Freezha is a human who has decided to accept a Lizzeed as a mate. A risky move in itself, due to the clan’s secretive and violent ways. But, after an accident where she is injured by some young Lizzeeds she fears what will happen on the night of their mating.

Vyur is humbled and happy that Freezha has chosen him as mate. His Lizzeed half is very happy as well. But, he fears that she will not be able to accept him once she discovers his clan’s secrets.

Mima has built a very interesting world where humans live alongside the not so human. Vyur is a man but he also shapeshifts into a lizard like being. They live in a warrior society and are very aggressive and warlike. The struggle that Vyur faces in controlling his beast so as not to scare Freezha, and the fear left from her injury that Freezha must overcome if she is to thrive in their relationship plays an integral part to the plot. The biggest secret is one that Freezha will have to face if she wants to truly commit to the relationship. The erotic scenes were very well written and steamy hot. Freezha is a very interesting woman in that she is strong and independent but is willing to compromise in order to fit into a society so much different than her own. Vyur was very touching as a warlike, aggressive, very alpha male who struggles to control his beast in order to be with the one he loves.
