Christina lies in a hospital bed after being beaten nearly to death by her abusive husband. She is surrounded by her friends who all know that she is hovering at deaths door. Her best friends are, unbeknownst to her, recently turned vampires. A decision is made to save her life by converting her into a vampire as well.

Sebastian is a centuries old vampire who has been fascinated with Christina since the moment he first laid eyes on her at his friends wedding. When he discovers her state he demands to be the one to turn her, Christina calls to him as no other has done before.

If that’s not enough, an ancient evil has returned and has focused upon Christina, the supernaturals must overcome their differences and join together to fight to save her and themselves.

Sweeter Than Wine is the latest installment in a sadly out of print series. It is not necessary to read the previous books to enjoy this story but if you have you will appreciate it that much more. Bianca D’Arc, has in my humble opinion, out done herself with this book. While the previous books in the series were good, this one is outstanding. The vulnerability of Christina is touching and her transformation due to the love and care that Sebastian gives her is heartrendingly sweet. The love and bond that builds between the two and watching as Christina finds the strength and will to confront her past would make this story a keeper on its own. But the fabulously written plot, the intriguing supporting characters, the emotionally wrought erotic scenes, and the battle against and ancient evil has made it one that I highly recommend.
