Catastrophe

Polly Griggs isn’t having a good day when she is the recipient of an eviction notice. Told that she has violated the rules because she has too many cats, she feels just as abandoned as the stray and crippled cats that she has given a home to. No one else would take the little darlings in, and now it appears her inebriated and mean landlord, Mr. Greeley, wants Polly immediately removed from her apartment. Simon is a nearby neighbor, who, the landlord nicknames, Stutterin’ Simon. He just happens to have a slight crush on Polly but keeps his feelings quiet. When the landlord refuses to leave Polly alone, Simon rushes to her rescue. Polly thinks there is something special about Simon. She invites him in for a cup of tea, and things begin to open up more between them, but will it be enough to figure out a way to get old man Greeley off her back before he brings in the cops?

Have you ever read a book, I mean really read one where everything is so visualize that it is hard to escape the mind? Not to mention the desire to want to jump through the pages and just bang the landlord’s head against the wall a few times. Catastrophe is that kind of read. I could share in Polly’s sensations as she sought to take care of the abandoned cats. I hate seeing a poor animal without a home. Simon is a charming person that is very commendable for his actions. Sharon Buchbinder pens an amazing tale where everything portrayed still plays in my head the next day. All cat lovers will love this story, and even those that don’t, this tale makes the reader react in different ways.
