Chasing Phoenix offers a twist on the sex with a stranger fantasy, only one of the characters is in the dark, literally. Blindfolded and not allowed to talk or move, Michael’s difficulty in controlling his desire for Lady Phoenix is palpable. The encounter between them is hot enough to fry an egg, and each of them comes away with more frustration than satisfaction. Michael is blindsided by the lust Lady Phoenix inspires and refuses to give up the search for Lady Phoenix’s true identity. Abbey only complicates things by taking action that only heats things up. Abbey’s dilemma is one everyone can relate to, does she risk their friendship by going after Michael or does she try to forget about the way she feels? Ms. d’Abo does a great job with Chasing Phoenix. Her style is fast paced and a delight to read, and the twist on an old familiar fantasy is a pleasant and at times a very hot read. If you’re after a quick read with plenty of heat, then you need to pick up a copy of Christine d’Abo’s Chasing Phoenix.
