Hot Like Fire: The Taming and Liberation of Mariana
Even when you know that a person isn’t the best for you it doesn’t stop the pain when they dump you like a sack of potatoes. Mariana knew her ex was too self absorbed to ever find enough love in his heart for her but it still didn’t lessen the pain of another failed relationship. She never would have guessed her vacation of “woe” would bring into her world a devastating mound of a man. Samson is everything a woman could want but as soon as he sets eyes on Mariana, he becomes bound and determined to claim her as his own. It doesn’t matter if men from her past are coming out of the woodwork because by the time Samson is finished making love to his woman, her past won’t even register as a distant memory.
For readers who enjoy aggressive alphas of the tenth degree then Hot like Fire: The Taming and Liberation of Mariana is just the story for them. Aggressive is a just a shade of how domineering Samson turned out to be. Even as I enjoyed his attitude on occasion his demeanor had a way of overpowering Mariana’s personality. So with all the off the charts sex aside and his glowing words of love and adoration, I can’t really say I felt connected to the woman he was so in love with. I can’t remember the number oftimes when Mariana would go to speak and be hushed by a mind blowing kiss or some other intimate act. Jeanie Johnson and Jayha Leigh together make an explosive combination and they have what it takes to turn their partnership into a gold mine. I just wished they would have toned down Samson’s domination a tad bit and brought out more of Mariana’s personality so I could really get a clear picture of what men saw in her besides her physical attributes. I plan on keeping an eye out for their next installment because there are a ton of background characters I would love to read about, from Mariana’s aunt to Samson’s best friend.
