Torrid Tarot: As the Lady Wishes

Escaping the abusive reach of her ex-husband has finally given Lila freedom and a sense of peace. So she is shocked when her obsession with a painting of a virile dominating man comes alive and into her life. An ancient Druid punished for crimes long since forgotten Arthur comes alive based on the latent magic of the people whose wishes he fulfills. In the past he has partaken in many pleasures but his connection with Lila is profound and he is sure he’s finally found the woman he can live his life with if only they can find a way to make him whole again. Lila, Arthur and a small town sheriff will find themselves fighting their own beliefs as human and magical demons come hunting with death in mind.

In a blending of style, As the Lady Wishes takes the creative skills of two authors and turns out a story fans of both authors will both love. Lila is a woman who hasn’t allowed her painful history to kill her desires for love. A woman with internal magic that has yet to be tapped makes for a pretty wild and exciting story filled with action and a touch of danger. The threesome aspect between Arthur the Druid, Lila and Sam the local sheriff isn’t as fully developed as most ménages but to me is more realistic which made it more enjoyable. I thought the slow build-up was better than I’m a raging heterosexual one minute but totally bi which is often seen in stories lately. I think readers who like a little magic with their contemporaries and enjoy a story with depth will find Anna J. Evans & December Quinn provided all of that and more.
