Riding Wild

When Lily West was hired to watch and evaluate the performance of the museum’s night guard, the last thing she EVER imagined was facing her past in the shape of Mac Canfield. The oh so tempting shape of Mac Canfield. Mac doesn’t seem to have changed too much in the intervening years, Lily has caught him taking advantage of the sluggish night guards and absconding with an artifact. After what he did to her as a young woman, there’s no way she’s letting him get away with this.

Mac cannot believe it; he’s stuck between a rock and a hard place with Lily, yet again. He’s forced to lie to her again, but can he leave her behind this time? With her tenacious attitude and his secretive ways, these two butt heads constantly, but can they trust each other to do the right thing when faced with a choice?

This was a very steamy book with two characters that had a hard time with trust. They each wanted trust from the other, but weren’t willing to reciprocate. While the beginning of the book was a bit slow by necessity I am very glad that I continued reading and was able to watch this tale unwind. Both Lily and Mac grew within the pages of Riding Wild. I was impressed with the way that Lily faced her father near the end. It showed exactly how much she had grown in confidence and mentality. Well done Ms. Burton.
