Elementum
Silver is smart, sassy, stubborn, and a very talented linguist. She “borrowed” an ancient manuscript to crack the language that it was written in. However, when she gets it home things are not what they seem, especially when a stranger appears in the middle of her house demanding that she hand over the tome. So Silver being Silver tells said being that he is out of his mind, and he can’t have it. Thereafter she finds herself embroiled in an adventure that she could never have imagined in her wildest dreams. Silver must survive hideous monsters, trek through realms, save her best friend’s life, and make sacrifices. She never expected to come to care for the overbearing, loyal, loving, arrogant Fey that thought to master her.
Quaede is a warrior on a mission to save his people and the realms of Humans and Fey. He must recover a book that belongs to his people. Already centered on his mission and what he must do, Quaede never expected to encounter the sexy, tough, and seductive Silver. Unlike any woman he has ever known, she will follow him on his adventure (albeit reluctantly), she will test his patience (gladly), and she will capture his heart as no other has before. Quaede will fight against a jealous queen, wicked monsters, dark Fey, and his own heated desires.
I loved this book! From the adventures to the fighting, then to realm from realm, the monsters in here were hideously wonderful. I mean if you wanted to read something different then here it is! I was utterly enraptured from the first page to the last. The details to the world that was created was wonderful with out being overwhelming: the characters were very vivid and at times seem to play right off the pages of my computer screen! The settings felt very real to my eyes, and I could feel all the emotions of each character. I had no troubles relating to anyone that had a piece of the pie. The men were all very sexy and masculine, the women seductive and powerful. The bad guys were so bad they were good. Another of the great pleasures of this book is that it is not weak in plot, and the girls are not treated like wusses. They get to fight just like the men all the while retaining their femininity, and I loved that the author was able to make that bridge while taking nothing from the story. All in all this is a wonderful fantasy with plenty of lore, love, action, and world filled with the unreal and the real!
All props to Toni Meilleur for this great read!
