The Druid’s Glen 3: Highland Dawn
Once upon a time three sisters lived happily with their parents in ancient Scotland. Then evil came, their parents were murdered and the girls were separated and sent off in different directions for their protection. These were not just normal children; these children were powerful Druids and an important part of a prophecy that could save all of Scotland. The Druid’s Glen 3: Highland Dawn by Donna Grant is the third book in the trilogy. I do not recommend reading this book without reading the first two, these are wonderful stories, but to get the full impact you need all three.
Moira, the eldest of the three sister’s in the prophesy, must find a way into the Fae world to save the Fae people and her own. Dartayous is a Druid warrior that has sworn to protect Moira but there is much more to Dartayous than she knows. As they are forced to spend more time together while they search for the key and the way into the Fae world, Moira and Dartayous can no longer ignore the attraction to one another. Is Dartayous Moira’s mate? The couple and the whole world are in danger right now and they must concentrate on their task because failure is not an option.
Donna Grant’s trilogy, The Druid’s Glen, concludes with Highland Dawn and Moira’s story. I enjoyed the whole trilogy but Moira’s story is my favorite. I enjoyed the characterizations of Moira and Dartayous. Moira has the hardest battle to face and the future of the whole world balances on her decisions. Although Moira presents a strong face to her friends, inside she is more insecure than anyone realizes. Dartayous’ character also appears one way to the world but his internal reality is far different. Dartayous is afraid to love for he fears losing love so he keeps his distance from everyone. Moira is afraid to fail or to lose face and her pride may be her down fall. While reading this story I had to wonder if I have ever let pride keep me from some wonderful opportunity; if so I hope I never let pride stand in my way again. Life is too short. I also enjoyed the couple roaming all over Scotland and the descriptions of the scenery, but the description of the Fae world were even more fascinating. I have really enjoyed this trilogy and can’t wait to see what Ms. Grant does next.
