Cass and her family are not your typical shapeshifters. They were definitely given the short side of the stick when animals were handed out. Cass is a mongoose, and her family members range from fox, and goat, to a skunk. Still, she tries as much as she can to live a normal life, but it’s not happening too well once she starts a new job. Her co-workers make her family look normal, except for Dar. She doesn’t know it yet, but Dar is her best friend from online. He is hot and classy and he’s interested in her. She is more than happy to see where it takes them, that is, if he can survive meeting her family.

Over the Wall is just simply brilliant. It’s funny, sexy, and a joy to read. I found myself loving all of the characters; they each had their own charm that drew you in. Cass is pretty much a normal woman, except for the shape changing part. She is insecure with some things, but strong and bold with others. She is someone who I would love to have as a friend. The same goes for her friend Jonathan. The scenes with or about him were great. I liked hearing about him as much as I liked hearing about the rest of them. Dar is not the typical hero. He has some unusual tastes, and he has no problems screaming in fear when the time is right. He is also the perfect fit for Cass. Theolyn Boese has written a great paranormal treat for anyone who wants some laughter with their spice.
