Macy McCoy and Jamie Lee Carter have been best friends since childhood. So that means Macy has gotten to see Luke Carter, Jamie Lee’s brother, grow up into a gorgeous, sexy stud-muffin of a man. On the other side of the coin, Macy has also seen the kind of women Luke has dated and they are the complete opposite of Macy. Macy is curvy, has had a crush on Luke forever and knows he would never be interested in a woman like her. When big time country singer Tammy Turner shows up having a hair emergency, things change for Macy. Tammy loves the hair cut Macy gave her so much that she offers Macy a job as her stylist in Nashville. This is a dream come true for Macy. So will Macy take the job? Also, what about Luke?

All the characters were wonderful; Macy, Luke, Jaime Lee, Tammy and even Mrs. Irma, a grandmamma-like woman who watches MTV and quotes it too. A Little Less Talk and a Lot More Action had me laughing so much from the things Mrs. Irma would say to Macy’s guest appearance on Grill and Chill, the cooking show. I have been wanting to read one of Ms. McLane’s books for a while now. So glad I did but I now find myself saying “Why didn’t I do it sooner”. I fell in love with this book. Ms. McLane had me wanting to kick up my boots and let loose. I also thought choosing a Toby Keith song for the title was a great idea. For anyone who thinks country music is just about the blues is wrong. Country/Western music is fun and LuAnn McLane shows it in A Little Less Talk and a Lot More Action.
