Scarlett DeHavilland is a romantic, living in a dream world where a white knight will come to her one day. The reality is that she dreams of a handsome man making love to her, only to wake up and find out that it is real. Scarlett does not know that she is a witch, but Byron is all too familiar with the curse that brings him to a woman’s bed when she calls for him. Scarlett tries to tell herself that Byron is not The One, but he awakens her to passion far beyond what she imagined. There is one slight problem. Byron is not only handsome and sexy, he has a dark side that wants her soul. Scarlett’s aunts, Letty and Prissy, are witches in the real sense of the word and are very happy that Byron has shown up, much to Scarlett’s dismay. Leaving them alone, they hope that Scarlett will break the curse holding Byron and bind him to her forever, leaving them free to return to the world where they belong. Can Scarlett accept Byron as her one and only and break the hated curse, or will Byron’s dark side engulf them and steal not only her heart, but also her soul?

The Binding takes you on a journey where witches are real, danger is lurking and love is the answer. Scarlett’s aunts were hilarious secondary characters. I could picture their silly antics and failed spells. Byron was dark and handsome, yet tried so save Scarlett from the dark world trying to capture her. The story was a little confusing at the beginning, but the plot moved you along and brought answers to the questions. Saranna DeWylde has a great imagination and hopefully with turn out more stories about these otherly worlds. Maybe we will hear Letty and Prissy’s stories one day. I will keep my eyes open for the next installment.
