Lt. Colton Wheeler and his lover Dr. Diego Del Rio are slowly getting their life back after a vicious hate crime injured both men. But the peace is about to be shattered when an old lover wants Diego back and will stop at nothing to get him. To further complicate matters someone is cattle rustling and tribal masks covered with dried blood are being found after someone wearing them begins terrorizing the borderlands.


Lt. Colton Wheeler and Dr. Diego Del Rio are back in this scrumptious tale that picks up a year after the events in Fearless. A lot has happened in their lives since then and things seem to be settling down. Colton knows that something is still bothering Diego and when Colton discovers what it is he does the only thing he knows how to do…confronts it head on. There are a lot of separate story arcs going on in this story, but Sarah Black conveys all the necessary details in such a finely nuanced way that you don’t realize until you are finished just how much was truly going on in the story. It is only after you turn the last page and sit and ruminate over the story that you realize how much Ms. Black has put into this all too short of a story. While I liked Fearless, I absolutely loved Lawless! Colton and Diego just keep getting better and better and I fall a little more in love with them with each visit. This is a Five Star Recommendation for sure!
