Amelia Landry is a mystery writer who has a bad case of writer’s block. Her best friend is tired of watching her sit around in a bikini and a worn out Count Dracula t-shirt eating cheese whiz. She rents Amelia a fourteenth-century castle in Scotland that once belonged to Laird Ethan Munro. Ethan was very hot in his day and was sought after by any and all of the ladies of his time. The only problem was that all of the ladies that he came to care for all ended up dead, including his newly wed wife. The night of his wedding he and his warriors are enveloped in a mist and are never seen or heard from again. When Amelia shows up at the castle Ethan thinks that maybe she will be the one that can help them to figure out why they are neither dead nor alive and why they have been this way for the last seven centuries. What he doesn’t count on is falling in love with a twenty-first century girl who is not afraid of him, his warriors or anything else that the evil spirits of the castle have thrown at her.

Amelia is looking forward to her summer in Scotland but is totally amazed when she comes face to face with Ethan and his warriors who lived seven centuries ago. She can’t help but be amazed by their existence and the more she gets to know them the more she wants to help discover what really happened to them. However, she soon discovers what enchanted them has powers in the here and now and wants her out of the picture. Can the love that she and Ethan found be enough to keep her safe and will it be enough to help them discover the truth? And will the truth set him free or will it send him back to his home seven centuries ago?

If you have never read a book by Cindy Miles then you have no idea what you are missing. Her writing is filled with humor, wit and some of the sexiest enchanted Scottish Highlanders ever to walk the earth. Ms. Miles will enchant you, she will memorize you and she will make you fall in love with any hero about which she writes. All of her books are amazing to read, but Highland Knight is one of my favorites. Ethan is one of the hottest guys I’ve ever met in a romance, and it doesn’t matter if he’s enchanted or a living and breathing guy you’re going to fall madly in love with him. The love story between Amelia and Ethan is very intriguing and wondering if this story will turn out the way that you want it to makes it the best story that I’ve read in a long time. For some reason I want to go to Scotland and rent a fourteenth century castle and you’ll feel the same way after reading this book.
