When Love Commands

When Sergeant Daniel Butler met Major Claire Kirkland at an impromptu “beach party” in the middle of the desert while they both were deployed on tours of duty in Iraq, it was love at first sight for Daniel. When Daniel is brought into her Medic tent with a life threatening injury, Claire tells him that she will find him when he is better, to calm him down. Little did she know that he would find her once they were back in The States. Their attraction is intense because Daniel has to go back to Iraq for his last tour. Will Claire and Daniel be able to stand the feelings that hit them as they try to have one of the ultimate long distance relationships?

When Love Commands was a fantastic, sensual and heart-wrenching tale of two soldiers trying to make their relationship work while one is deployed in a war zone. The story read as smooth as a piece of silk cake. I didn’t feel like Ms. Rose tried to sugar coat the reality of war but she showed a side that most people aren’t privileged to see.

I thought the characters were down to earth and very believable. The passion between Claire and Daniel was a thing of beauty. I loved the lengths Daniel went through to find Claire and I loved how Claire told Daniel not to sugar coat what he was going through because she knew what went on in the war zone.

I enjoyed this quickie from Ms. Rose. When Love Commands was a true love story that I highly recommend.
