To Catch a Thief

Being the daughter of the world’s most infamous art thief is something that Nell MacInnes has always had to live down but seeing him arrested and beaten by the same police who are sworn to protect, changed her view on the world and taught her one lesson that she would never forget: trust no one.

When a sketch by Leonardo de Vinci is brazenly stolen out of the National Gallery, navy SEAL Dakota Smith is sent to keep an eye on Nell, who is suspected of the robbery, and any contact she might have with known criminals. Dakota’s plans of staying in the shadows to watch Nell is soon thrown out when he follows her up a mountain during a snow storm to rescue several stranded hikers. As he watches her brave the elements to save an injured girl, Dakota steps in to offer her his help and finds himself admiring her spirit and wondering if the initial assessment of her was correct or if he’s just letting the attraction he felt between them color his view.

To Catch A Thief by Christina Skye is an exciting tale filled with adventure, danger and deception. The action in this story comes on full force right from the beginning and doesn’t let up as you are lead into the fast paced and deadly world of illegal art, black market dealing and murder.

I really liked Nell as the heroine in this book. She was a kick-ass, no-nonsense woman who was confident in what she did without coming off as too bitchy which is often typical of strong heroines. Dakota was also a great character to pair with Nell as they had great chemistry and worked well together as neither was trying to overpower each other to get their way.

You can’t go wrong with any book by Christina Skye and To Catch A Thief is another example of the amazing talent this author displays in every story she tells.
