Zara’s Bois 1: Zack and the Dark Shaft
Zara has always gotten everything she ever wanted and experienced every pleasure without counting the cost until life finally caught up with her. Zara is trying to get her best friend Quincy to invest in her latest scheme to start a club, and when he refuses, Zara plays on his feelings but an accident occurs which takes Zara’s life. Zara woke to find herself somewhere else where she is being given a second chance to be with the man she loves, but she isn’t told that the outcome will decide her future, redemption or not. Months later, Zara’s twin brother Zack is attending Quincy’s grand opening of his new club Zara’s which is everything that Zara envisioned and more. Zack and Quincy have always been attracted to one another, but they never approached each other because of Zara. Today Zack feels Zara’s presence stronger than he has, but when he begins to hear her voice, he thinks he is loosing his mind. Quincy decides to make his move, but Zara takes over Zack and finally gets her chance with Quincy without either of them knowing. Things become sticky when Zara begins to think about taking what she can’t have, Quincy, at her brother’s expense. Will Quincy and Zack have their chance at love? Will Zara find her way towards redemption?
Ms. McKeever has created an interesting story about learning what love and friendship is truly about. Zara was never held responsible in life and needed to learn that you can’t always get what you want. Quincy and Zack put Zara’s feelings ahead of their own, but now they may get their chance. I loved how Quincy was able to see beyond Zack’s facade to see that the person he was seeing wasn’t the man he loved, but his dead sister. I enjoyed the interplay between the angels, and how they left things up to Zara to decide her fate. I look forward the next installment of Zara’s Bois.
