The Silver Cage

The Divine Wolf, mother of all werewolves, has ripped Iris and her lover Alfie apart. Iris is determined to do everything in her power to get him back, even if that means killing the Divine Wolf. Can Iris do what needs to be done even if the repercussions could affect all their lives in ways that are totally unexpected?

The Silver Cage is the third book in what has been a delightful trilogy. I really loved these characters and couldn’t wait to see what happened in this new adventure. Other than one minor quibble I really liked the story. There were a ton of secondary characters that almost overwhelmed me but after I got them straightened out I fell right back into love with the story. Iris has developed into a complex and intriguing character and her triangle with the two men in her life, Alfie and Blake, makes for some satisfying sexual tension; the sex scenes were well written and sensual. The irony of Iris being a Werewolf hunter who is now in love with a werewolf and has to fight the Divine Wolf to save him was really quite delicious. I love Mathilde Madden’s writing style, there was a certain beauty to her phrasing that was really quite lyrical, the story has a well developed plot and while it is the third in a trilogy it could stand on its own with only a few questions as to previous plot arcs.
