Prophecy of Vithan

Morgan is a Sonij slave in the King of Dkr’s household; she is a combination trainer/bodyguard who trains the king’s son, Prince Khai, in all forms of martial arts, and protects him with her life. All is happening as it should, until one day, two Protectors, the enforcement arm of the Galactic Council, attempt to kill the Prince. Morgan wakes up in the King’s dungeon and finds that she is accused of trying to assassinate the Prince. Though she is cleared of the charge, the King wants her out of his household and forces her to marry Protector Len Braxton, into whose charge she is placed.

For his part, Braxton is convinced that she tried to kill the Prince, and his secret instructions are to find out if Morgan is the original Morgan Taj Zephyrain. If she is, he is ordered to kill her, since that Morgan is a murderer and a traitor against the Galactic Council. But the situation is even more complicated, and Morgan and Braxton must find out whether their reluctant passion for each other is a blessing or an obstacle to fulfilling the ancient Prophecy of Vithan.

Every once in a while, I find a book that grabs me and draws me into the emotional life of the protagonist, making it almost impossible for me to stop reading. Prophecy of Vithan is such a book. This is a complex, multi-layered science fiction novel with a great love story mixed in. It includes the stories of a mentor protecting her student, a woman trapped by slavery, a man and woman chained together by an emotional connection they cannot resist, a rogue organization attempting to gain absolute control over the true government, and the fulfillment of an ancient prophecy that will save the world. That’s a lot to cover in one book! The love story will be very satisfying to the romantics among us, with a few moderately explicit erotic love scenes for spice. I wholeheartedly recommend this very interesting science fiction romance as great summer reading.
