Border Wedding
Sir Walter Scott could not believe his bad luck. Not only did he get caught trying to steal his own cattle back in what was surely a set up, but now he has the opportunity for him and his men to escape being hung if he will marry his captor’s daughter. Having only heard how homely she is, he wonders which would be worse. Lady Margaret Murray thought marriage for her was out of the question, but now that she has her chance, she can’t wait to give herself to her new husband. However her brothers and the fight between Scotland and England will soon turn her world upside down, and Margaret will find herself having to make a choice between her husband or her brothers.
Wow! That is the one word that best describes Border Wedding. While having read books by Ms. Scott before, none have made such an impression as this one. Wat was a true Scottish hero who at first seemed rather brooding and aggressive, but readers get to watch him grow into a man that will melt your heart. Lady Margaret is a very endearing character. One can’t help but feel for her and her plight. Both characters were very well written and the plot never drug out at all. Ms. Scott has definitely given us a book that will stay on my keeper shelf, and I can’t wait for more books from this talented author.
