When her father dies in a car accident, Gabriella DeVoux is left with a mysterious sword with a dragon etched in it. She sets out to find the history behind the sword and is amazed when she hears a tale of a mysterious man known as The Dragon of Blackmoor.

Damon DeGracey, the Lord of Blackmoor, is a knight who lives to serve his king. He is on the hunt for rebels who are working their way across the countryside burning and killing everything in their path.

When he and his men stumble across Gabriella they cannot decide if she is a rebel or a victim. Either way, Damon decides to keep her close until he can get his questions answered and see where her loyalties lie.

A Walk in the Black Forest by K.A. M’Lady is an excellent read. I have always loved time travel romances and this book was no exception. Watching Gabriella become accustomed to a group of burly warriors was fascinating and male dominance has always pushed the right buttons for me. Throughout the book Damon’s basic nature arose and he wanted to protect and woo Gabriella even though he couldn’t quite figure out if she was on his side. He had a war to fight and couldn’t decide whether he could trust Gabriella. There were many scenes throughout the book that kept me on my toes! I didn’t know what to expect and the ending was a nice surprise that I hadn’t anticipated. I kept hoping it would go a certain way, but I wasn’t sure it would until the end. Definitely a must read. I will be looking for more books by Ms. M’Lady.
