Strike Three Armageddon

Kenny is eighty-one-years-old and lives with his wife Connie. He keeps his eyes focused and ears sharp. When he oversees something strange going on in his town, he is approached by the FBI to sign a confidentially paper stating he saw none of the events or either sell his property and leave. Kenny doesn’t like for any government official telling him what to do. He is an American and knows about speaking his mind. Zach is a good friend of Kenny’s who keeps a vigil eye atop the mountain. He keeps Kenny posted, on the secrecy of things below, with coal trucks transporting food into the tunnel. There has also been a nuclear reactor placed inside the tunnel. The President of the United States believes people should be notified about the latest developments but the Secretary of Defense doesn’t believe in pushing a panic button, only causing more problems. The President wonders will the people even wish to stay long in the tunnels, once they learn they must take shelter. It is a chaos about to explode. The Secretary of Defense believes everything is fine. While the President worries that the race may soon become extinct like dinosaurs. It appears someone has tampered with the fuel rods of the nuclear reactor. As Kenny fears this is all just a start of something bigger to come, it appears it is hard to distinguish who are really the good guys and the bad in a fight to survive.

If you have never read a Kenneth Baker book, you don’t know what you are missing. He creates horrific tales that keep the reader on the edge of the seat. The cast of characters is huge, and each person plays out their part to absolute perfection. Kenny has always been a tough player, doing anything to try to keep what belongs to him safe as well as his country. Secrets, friends, betrayal, sabotage and even evil politicians come into play in Strike Three Armageddon. I am always amazed at what lengths Mr. Baker goes to in blending everything together to make his stories pulse pounding. My adrenaline raced as the story weaves in and out, while the reader tries to figure the outcome, and who is really the mole, so to speak, causing all the trouble. Intense, heart-pounding, and fast-paced action galore, this story grips and doesn’t let go.
