Banking On Love

When Amy Winters is forced out of her job by her ex-husband's pregnant wife, she has $10.00 to her name. To add to her embarrassment that very morning she runs into the man she had a crush on for years, Blake Warner, recently returned from a very successful job in the city to help with his father's banking business with the intent of taking over the reins. On a frivolous whim she spends her last dollar on a super lottery ticket. What Amy doesn't know is that her ticket is the winner, catapulting her to multi-millionaire status. What she also doesn't know is that Blake has secretly had the hots for her, and is ready to make his move. He does so now, and what a move it is! Helping her to reach her inner sensual self is a pleasure for both.

When Amy's slime-ball ex shows up, looking for a cut of her money, Blake is more than happy to put the kibosh on his intentions. However, what Blake doesn't know is the fundamental reason for her divorce: Amy's infertility. Can a man set on having a family overlook what she views as a major defect? Amy is afraid he won't and it is up to Blake to convince her otherwise.

In Banking on Love, Nancy Lindquist has struck gold. Her dialogue is dead on. Blake's father is a near perfect second character, hilariously grouchy while clearly wanting the best for his son. Amy is a fantastic heroine, plucky even when down, as seen in her purchase of the lottery ticket. She is sensible and yet sympathetic, quietly donating huge sums of money to those for whom she feels gratitude. However, the one who steals the show is Blake. Alpha enough to qualify as an irresistible force of nature, he is nonetheless is sensitive enough to stop short of being domineering. In Blake, Ms. Lindquist has again created such a drool-worthy man, this reader can hardly wait for her next one. I highly recommend Banking on Love as a fast paced, totally enjoyable read.
