Police officer Eric Duncan has wanted Detective Lisa Zimmer from the minute that he met her, but Lisa is very hung up about the age difference between the two of them and refuses to date a man younger than she is. Eric invites her to his birthday party that will be held at a local bar because he is about to turn thirty years old and then there will only be nine and one half years between them instead of the usual ten that she says is too much. Eric has two plans for his birthday. Number one is to convince Lisa that the years that separate them mean nothing to him and that he can love her no matter how old she is. Number two is to convince her that she needs to stay with him permanently and then they can live happily ever after and grow old together.

Lisa has been attracted to Eric from the very beginning but the age difference is just too much for her to bear so she turns him down when he asks her out for a date. She thinks that he has decided not to date her but then he asks her to attend the party. He puts it out there as a challenge and one thing that Lisa does not do is turn down a challenge.

If you’re looking for a story has some erotic romance and a bit of suspense then this is the one for you. While Lisa and Eric are fighting the attraction between them there is a crime going on that they have to solve. I loved this book because the plot was just as strong as the sexual scenes, which made it a perfect book for me. These two share a friendship that could develop into something very hot if Lisa would give it a chance and Eric is bound and determined to convince her to do it. Eric is a total stud and I would give into him without a doubt so let’s hope that Lisa forgets about the nine and half years that separate them and decides to move ahead with a relationship that could lead to happily ever after. Sometimes it doesn’t matter how old you are, you just have to give into love which is what Eric needs to convince Lisa to do in this book.
