Heated Rush
Annie Davis is going to her parents’ thirty-five year anniversary party and she will go with a date even if she has to buy one. She had told her mother that she was dating someone but she then discovered that the guy was married. No way did she want to return home to her family and have them know that had happened to her, so she decided that attending an auction and purchasing a guy would be perfect for her. What she didn’t count on was finding an Irish guy that could set her on fire with his words and burn her body with his kisses. She really didn’t count on falling in love with him in just a few short dates, and she has to wonder if he will disappear after the weekend since he is an “international businessman”, or can this romance continue and grow to the happily ever after that Annie wants it to be?
Sean Murphy went into the auction just to get a rise out of his father, but to be purchased for such a low amount really didn’t sit too well for his ego either. That is until he met the woman face to face. The woman is sweet and nice and he wants to get to know her very intimately. His idea of the perfect date was a meal at a nice exclusive restaurant, but her idea of a weekend spent with her parents in her hometown makes him think that he should just refund her money and then head for the hills. Once he hears why she needs him to go with her he understands and agrees to go as long as she doesn’t fight the building attraction that is about to combust between them.
I’m a huge fan of Ms. Kelly’s work and this book was another perfect one for me. The hero’s line of work is a bit strange, but leave it to this author to prove that the guy’s job does not make the man. When he turned twenty-one his father informed him that it was time that he married the woman that has been chosen for him when he was a baby. Sean immediately decided that he wanted to live his life and not have things laid out for him as his father was doing. When he left Ireland he had no money and ended up with a rather peculiar job, but it paid the bills and it allowed for him to make a place for himself in the new world of America. This book is the perfect read by Leslie Kelly with the humor, out of control sex and sexy banter between characters. Annie fell in love with the quick wit of Sean along with the fact that he made himself so vulnerable to her and she just couldn’t resist him. I don’t think that you’ll be able to resist him either. Pick up a copy of Heated Rush and see if you don’t agree with me.
