You Gotta Sin to Get Saved

Charlotte Rodgers’ ambitions cost her a great deal over the years. First her daughters, Connie and Reesy, she willingly left for a man able to make her see stars from his lovemaking. Then she lost the beauty that had helped her to gain men seeking to woo and keep her over the years. They say be careful of what you wish for. Charlotte wished to have her daughters back in her life, and twenty-seven years later, her wish came true. But the children she left have grown up, and the rules have changed. Charlotte is about to discover how deep a sister’s bonds truly go.

Reesy has unanswered questions that seem more important than keeping her family intact. Her husband is drifting trying to find love in all the wrong places, and their perfect picture of a family is finally showing the wear and tear of neglect.
Connie is forty and pregnant again. She wasn’t ready the first few times she conceived, indicated by her long line of abortions and that her only living child is being raised by Reesy. Connie never wanted to be a “Charlotte” when it came to children, but now she’s ready to face life head-on even if it means losing her John, the man she loves and the father of her unborn child.

You Gotta Sin to Get Saved helped me to realize that my life is much better than I thought it was. When you look at what all the characters had to go through just to exist, it humbles you. Charlotte survived ordeals that I believe hardened and changed her. It was her jacked-up attitude that made sympathy a reluctant commodity to come by. The more she spoke, thought, and acted out, the less I respected her as a woman and mother. I could truly understand Connie’s fears, but constantly rooted for her to keep moving forward. And Reesy proved to be a very strong and determined woman who would not allow the wool to be pulled over her eyes by anyone in her life. J.D. Mason has written a story full of intrigue, and suspense. This was my first introduction to her style of writing and I have to admit I was impressed. Between fits of laughter and tearful passages, she kept me glued to You Gotta Sin to Get Saved from beginning to end. Fans and new comers will not be disappointed.
