I, Spy? Book One of the Sophie Green Mysteries

Sophie Green lives a pretty uneventful life as an airline employee. Generally she works at the gates or at customer check-in ensuring that passengers make their flights, but recently things have been a little different. After she chases down and captures a passenger that is smuggling, she gets hired by a super secret government agency to work as a spy. Who would ever suspect blond, stacked, and kind of nutty Sophie of being a secret agent? But there is more to Sophie than her appearance. Then someone decides that Sophie may know too much and they begin to send her interesting packages, threatening notes, Molotov cocktails, and even shoot at her. But they don’t know Sophie…

I, Spy? by Kate Johnson is the first book in the new Sophie Green Mystery series and is a delightful, humorous, and wacky mystery. The character of Sophie is underestimated by everyone because she is blond and well built but Sophie is really quite bright and insightful as well as lucky and clumsy. She is quick to come up with a solution to just about every problem presented to her and doesn’t hesitate to follow through even when that lands her in one problem after another. She flirts with a couple of different love interests but seems the most attracted to Luke, the secret agent that hires her. But is it wise to get involved with a co-worker? The office is really small—what if it doesn’t work out? Luke is everything you’d want in a hero character except Sophie can’t tell if she’s just the next woman in line or really means something to him. I really enjoyed this story. I’m excited that it is just the first book of a series. I’m looking forward to reading more of the adventures, or misadventures, of Sophie Green!
