His Wicked Sins
Elizabeth Canham is on her way to the local boarding school in Yorkshire where she was accepted as a teacher and just in time too since her family is dire need of money. As instructed, Beth has the stage drop her off at the crossroads by the church to await someone from the school to pick her up but no one shows up except the handsome Griffin Fairfax. When they arrive at the school, Beth’s first impression of it was that there was more going on than anyone was telling her and later she discovers that two of the previous teachers had been murdered and both had pale blonde hair, just like hers, and associated with Griffin.
Griffin Fairfax is taken with Beth and can imagine her in his life but doesn’t know how she’ll react when she discovers that he isn’t the gentleman that she believes him to be.
His Wicked Sins is a delightfully wicked tale of secrets, lies and murder. Beth makes a great heroine with her blend of innocence and forwardness. She is plagued with fears that have haunted her since childhood but has the strength to deal with them so that they don’t overtake her life. Griffin also has his share of fears which draws him to Beth and makes their bond that much stronger.
This was the first book of Eve Silver’s that I had read but it won’t be my last. Her skills in creating such a dark, tantalizing tale keep me reading until the wee hours of the morning and unable to put the story down until I had read every last word. The passionate encounters between Beth and Griffin were very well done with a lot of heat and sensuality.
This is one book that you will want to add to your summer reading list! 5 Angels
