Icefire by Lynne Connolly is the second book in the PureWildfire Series.

Gina Russo can’t believe that her father is sending her on an assignment as a PR Rep for the rock group Wildfire. Gina’s sister, Maria, died of an overdose while dating Wildfires vocalist Ryan, and Gina has placed her death squarely on his shoulders. Now her Dad wants her to represent his company! Gina reluctantly agrees to take a look, but things get sketchy when Ryan realizes that Maria was her sister. Gina can’t get the wild and untamed vision of Ryan out of her mind. At the same time, Ryan is determined to stay away from Gina, but he remembers every single moment he had with her. Gina’s father managed to uncover the coroner’s report on Maria, and things become more confusing when there is an unknown drug in her blood at the time of her death. What Gina doesn’t know is that each member of Wildfire are shape shifters and they have enemies out to hurt them at any cost. Ryan decides to talk to Gina to see if they can iron out their differences and work together for the band when tragedy strikes putting Gina in the middle of the fight. Will Gina make it out alive? Will Ryan and Gina have a chance to explore their budding feelings for one another? Could this be the end of WildFire?

Ms. Connolly has created a fast paced book full of twists and turns that ensnares and holds the reader captive from the first word. I love the vivid portrayals of how Gina feels when she shape shifts, showing the readers all her innermost thoughts as it happens. Ryan isn’t your average rock star; he has depths to him that Gina learns as the bond between them grows stronger than ever. I loved watching WildFire as they performed at their concerts which came alive for me as I read not only their actions, but thoughts as well. Watching the love grow between Gina and Ryan, as they learn in times of trouble the strongest bonds are the ones forged in times of trouble. I for one will be waiting for the next action packed book in the Wildfire Series.
