The Brotherhood

The Brotherhood picks back up where Blood Moon left off, with Jon and Cassandra back at their home in England. Jon and Cassandra gave birth to a son named Joss. In this story, Joss is all grown up. He heads to Whitebriar Abbey to locate his parents in addition to finding out what is happening to him. Along the way he finds a young lady, Cora Applegate, in need of his assistance and brings her along. The party she was with has been attacked by a wild dog and she is the only remaining survivor. There is a problem. Joss finds out that someone else who was traveling with Cora has survived but this person was not alive to begin with. From here things get worse for Joss and Cora. Vampires come seeking to get into Whitebriar Abbey. One in particular wants revenge on Joss’s parents but since they are no where to be found, this vampire is just as happy targeting Joss. An old friend comes to the aid of Joss and you won’t believe who it is!

The Brotherhood is the second novel in this vampire trilogy. The Brotherhood sure keeps the fast pace going with adventure, suspense, fighting, and some romance thrown in the mix. Joss has his dad, Jon’s, charm when it comes to women. Joss has the protective nature but at the same time is a good lover. I thought that Cora was a great match for Joss because she could still hold her own when she needed to. I was glad to see that The Brotherhood picked right up from where Blood Moon left off. It made it easy to jump back into the story without missing a beat. The only thing I missed a little was not having Jon and Cassandra show up in the story but I understood why. This was Joss’s tale to tell and it gave the reader a chance to get to know Jon and Cassandra’s son better. The Brotherhood was still a wonderful novel, written by an amazing author Dawn Thompson. Unfortunately, she is no longer with us on this earth.
