Pret Ops : Identity

Lucia Malholland has decided to hang up her hat and retire. With her Selkie nature driving her, she leaves the job she loves behind and returns home to begin a family. But a man stalking her discovers her nature and this puts her life in jeopardy. In steps John and Cole Marshall of CyOps Corp to try and discover who is behind the plot to destroy Lucia. None of them expected the flames that their being together would ignite, but now they must find a killer and come to grips with the forces driving them together.

Pret Ops 4: Identity is a fabulous addition to a wonderful series. Lucia, a minor character in a previous Pret Ops story, now has the starring role. She is strong-willed and determined to leave behind her job and build a new life, even though she has no real prospects on the mate front. Cole and John are former lovers and Cole was a foster brother to John, while the Marshall family is fine with the fact that they were lovers, John can’t get past the fact that they share a name and how outsiders might look at their relationship. Pret Ops: Identity is filled with obstacles for the trio to overcome, Cole’s refusal to submit to his attraction to John, Lucia’s fear that the two men won’t accept her and the fact that Cole’s other nature as a polar bear wants to eat Lucia’s seal nature all add a depth to the story that makes it my favorite in the series so far. Add in the stalker out to harm Lucia and the men’s efforts to protect her and Pret Ops : Identity is a delicious treat.
