Past Lies

Paul Loughton was the Golden boy in high school. Football star, excellent grades and all the women he could handle. His college experience took him down a peg or two, but his status as big man in a small pond came back when he went home and became the town’s most prominent attorney and mayor. However, his life doesn’t satisfy him, and he’s not sure why.

Randy Martin was the poor kid everyone whispered about in high school. He’s gone on to make something of himself and is now a millionaire who drives a Mercedes. It’s been twenty years since he saw Paul. What will happen when they see each other again?

Ms. Kersten has penned an erotic tale of two men whose lives are unsatisfactory, but who both must keep their secrets to themselves. Once they find both lust and love, the only thing stopping them is fear.

I very much enjoyed this tale and it left me quite warm which is, I suppose, the purpose of the book. That is a compliment. The story is full of want, despair, need and bits of hope from both men until you feel so desperately bad and good at the same time that you can’t tell where one leaves off and the other begins. When the climax comes it leaves you wondering if there is any way to work out the problem keeping these two apart. However, the end, oh, the end is so satisfying it’s worth all angst that comes before.

Past Lies is a great read if you enjoy homosexual romance. There’s plenty of eroticism in it including some kink! Nothing extreme, but it does give you insight into both characters. It belonged there and the book would not have been the same without it.
