When Dane Fortune stages a robbery he was just doing what he was hired to do. Kidnapping Skye Ransom was not a part of the plan.

Skye is confused when Dane shoots her parents and takes her hostage. Now they are both unsure of what is going on around them and are equally surprised by the chemistry that ignites between them.

Skye must figure out why Dane would hurt her parents and if Dane can be trusted. Dane must determine what role Skye plays in the puzzle he has become trapped in and stop the people chasing him. Can they both work together to solve the puzzle or will time run out for both of them?

A Break in Time by Michelle Miles is the second in her Adventures of Ransom and Fortune series. I loved how Dane and Skye related to each other. Their emotions were real. Skye was torn between knowing Dane had hurt her parents and falling in love with him at the same time. Dane was changing because of Skye and it is nice to see it happening to someone as strong as Dane.

This is the second in the series so it was a little confusing for me when I first started reading. I could tell that the story was a continuation of the first book, A Bend in Time, but I have not gotten to read the first book so I had to use my imagination to fill in the gaps from the first story. I would highly recommend reading the first book before reading this one. It is an excellent read despite that and I look forward to reading the first and picking up others written my Ms. Miles.
