Fly By Knight

A Knight in need of rescuing, a damsel worthy of being a warrior and a long ago dream has two sworn enemies uniting in a fight for life. Aubrey Thaxton, sentenced to burn at the stake, is more than pleased with the woman who appears in his chamber. A little distraction before he leaves this world is just what the condemned knight needs.
Gwyneth is charged with saving Aubrey’s life, but with the passion between them explosive she’s finding it hard to stay focused on her goal; getting Aubrey out of Thaxton Castle. After escaping the castle, Gwyneth leads him to her village in Wales. There’s just one problem. Aubrey is English. There’s nothing more deadly to a Welshman.

Fly By Knight is a tale of knights and castles, damsels and warriors and sinister plots of greed. What’s not to like about a group of strong, independent women known as Hussy Warriors? Hand up waving, can I be one? Sahara Kelly brings us this latest story in The Hussies series. I love the idea of a league of women saving the world one man at a time…and such yummy men too. Aubrey is everything a knight should be, with his dedication to country and land, he is a powerful man. The betrayal by his closest friend cuts far deeper than the death sentence hanging over his head. Gwyneth is strong and independent as all Hussies should be, but there is such great depth to her heart that I kind of felt sorry for our knight; he didn’t stand a chance. Forced to accept her people’s decision about Aubrey’s fate, Gwyneth does what any good Hussy would do; stands by her man. Ms. Kelly has a way of telling a story that has you deep within the pages before the first one is turned. There’s plenty of heat between this pair and I was pleasantly surprised to find myself laughing at them as well; their daring escape springs to mind. Ms. Kelly has written a story that combines lethal foes, laughing highlights, lusty moments and a love that knows no bounds. Fly By Knight isn’t just a tale of knights and damsels, it gives us a glimpse of times past, battles and treachery and a deep love that spans any gap in its path.
After reading Fly By Knight I’ll be hunting up the rest of these Hussies and anything else with Sahara Kelly’s name on it.
