Stay With Me

It should be a happy time for Catherine Cullen-Wellesley—she has two gorgeous husbands and a much longed for child on the way. But things aren’t what they seem; for so long she’s come second to the business her husbands are building. When one of their many business emergencies has them forgetting about their anniversary dinner and cancelling the promised vacation, Catherine has to face some cold truths; she may love them more than anything and they may feel the same, but love just isn’t enough. Needing to make decisions about the future of their marriage and unborn child Catherine takes the trip on her own.

Coming back from a hellish business deal, both Logan and Rhys just want to crawl into bed with their wife. Finding her missing with no clue as to where she’s gone is not what they’re expecting. But even worse is the realization of what they’ve allowed to happen to their marriage and the very real risk that they could lose Catherine. Each of them will need to fight a battle far harder than any they’ve fought in business. The one thing going for them is that neither is willing to give up the woman they love.

Stay With Me is a very emotional look at what happens after the wedding bells. Maya Banks has delved deep into the emotional side of a polyamorous relationship; bringing out all the baggage that such a relationship entails. Ms. Banks leaves no part of the emotional upheaval out and you’re drawn into the lives of these three from the very first page. Logan and Rhys are both very much in love with their wife, but like most men they forget to let her know on a regular basis. Their aim is to provide a life for Catherine that will never require her to work hard again. They saw enough of that in the early part of their lives together. The sex is hot, really hot, but I found that secondary to the emotional intimacy between the three. Don’t get me wrong, you’ll be hot and sweaty after ready Stay With Me but I personally found the bigger impact of this book was the love between Logan, Rhys and Catherine. Ms. Banks has woven a tale that opens up your eyes to the fact that sometimes love just isn’t enough. To make it work you have to work and she certainly puts these three through some hard labor. Stay With Me is the best all around book I’ve read, with the sex steamy and the emotion deep. It has all the aspects I love about romance. Ms. Banks engages your mind, heart and body; definitely not a book to be missed.
