Lunar Eclipse

Violet Winter is a headstrong, determined she-wolf. She refuses to mate under her father’s edict and wants only to marry for love. The pack elders have given her an ultimatum: pick a mate during the lunar moon or they will choose one for her. Canon Ross is a half-breed that wishes to learn more about his mother’s heritage and be accepted into the pack. Unfortunately he doesn’t know pack law yet and Violet uses this opportunity to seduce Canon as an act of defiance against the elders. But she never imagined that their union would become a mating and that Canon would refuse to let go without a fight.

Lunar Eclipse by B.J. McCall is a werewolf story with a little different twist. During a Lunar Eclipse the wolf instincts are more prevalent and although “moon laws” are older, pack laws have superseded moon laws in many packs. This comes into play because a couple mating must have elder approval and both must be pack members according to pack law. Canon is not a pack member and definitely doesn’t have approval from the elders. But moon law has to do with wolf instincts and couples mating during the lunar eclipse have an undeniable connection for life that can’t be severed.

Violet was not my favorite character because she set out to use Canon to further her rebellion against the elders and she fully knew the pack law. Canon is a guy. What guy is going to tell a hot she-wolf no, especially when he has no idea what is at stake? But I like that Canon is all alpha male and doesn’t back away from the responsibility of what happened during the lunar eclipse. If you like stories about werewolves and pack life, you’ll enjoy Lunar Eclipse.
