Detective Larry “Ry” Steven and Doctor Amy Allens are trying to find and stop a serial killer. But they are also battling their incredible attraction to one another. The main problem is neither of them has been free to pursue a relationship. Amy filed for divorce over a year ago but her husband has not been willing to sign the papers even though they are not together. And Ry has had a girlfriend. Now this serial killer case may put Amy in grave danger and Ry isn’t sure he can deal with it. Will the couple be able to work together to solve this crime or will their attraction get in the way?

Psychotic by Aline de Chevigny is an interesting, suspenseful romance. I was a little disappointed that there wasn’t more storyline spent dealing with the solving of the crime and with the serial killer and less detail about the volatile relationship between Ry and Amy. I thought these two characters needed their heads knocked together for being so stubborn and stupid. Both of them are trying so hard not to get hurt that they constantly sabotage their relationship. I would have preferred less of their fights and more about the criminal investigation and serial killer. I like the premise of this series with an investigative unit working on solving serial killer crimes. All of the pieces are in the story to be an excellent suspense tale but I felt this one didn’t quite make it because I kept getting distracted by the fights between Ry and Amy. That doesn’t make it a bad story, it is still a good story and if you love battling couples you may even love it. I do want to read the next book in the series. I just hope it has more about the SKIU group and the crimes.
