Devon Falls: Red Hot Magic

Raine Delight has created a fun and magic filled world in her town of Devon Falls. The town was founded by families who all possess “gifts” that set them apart from the normal world. In Devon Falls they found a place to live peacefully with their unique skills. Now it appears that other gifted families around the world are sending their children to look for their soul mates in Devon Falls. The first book of this series, Sticky Magic is found in the Babes in Toyland II anthology.

In book two, Red Hot Magic, Jenna and her soul mate Marc want the same happiness they have found for their friends, Raven Demarco and Jean-Claude Lefever but getting them to meet may be a bit of a challenge. Jenna talks Raven into promising to attend a charity bachelor and dog auction to find “Mr. Right.” Raven goes along with the auction but has no intention of finding her soul mate there. She has been dreaming of Mr. Right for weeks but as he is just in her imagination, he couldn’t be real. Jean-Claude has a surprise for Raven but he has to meet her immediately, his time is running out but Raven is very stubborn. Will Raven and Jean-Claude meet? Could they possibly be each other’s soul mate?

The Devon Falls series by Raine Delight is fun and charming. The stories are short but action-filled as everything has to happen quickly. I find them humorous and entertaining as well as steamy and sensual, and I enjoyed the first two books. I am looking forward to reading what Ms. Delight will come up with in book three.

In Red Hot Magic, Raven is a strong willed, self-confident, and stubborn Cajun. She has no problem attracting the attention of men but she is so tired of the game. Raven does want what Jenna has found but doesn’t really believe there is a soul mate out there somewhere for her. Jean-Claude is seen mostly in Raven’s dreams but he is a man with his own issues and problems, one of which is he has almost waited too long to find Raven and his time is up. Ms. Delight does a great job of quickly bringing the reader into the problem; capturing your attention from the first page. I find the series delightful!
