First You Run
Adrien Fletcher has agreed to help his friend Jack Culver track down a woman who was sold in a black market adoption thirty years ago in order to help Jack try to get to the bottom of an old murder case involving the woman’s mother. The only clue they have is that she was marked at birth with a tattoo of some kind.
Adrien’s search leads him to Dr. Miranda Lang who has no idea that she was adopted but is in need of Adrien’s help with the threats she is receiving while on tour to promote her new book about the myth of the Mayan calendar to Armageddon.
As Adrien tries to discover if Miranda is the woman he has been looking for, the attraction between them grows as does the danger she faces from a group of obsessed fans and decides that the search for the tattoo might be the best fun he’s had in a long time.
First You Run is the first book of the Bullet Catcher trilogy from author Roxanne St. Claire and an excellent start to what promises to be an unforgettable series!
Miranda isn’t aware that Adrien’s true motive is to find out if she is the adopted woman he is looking for and believes that he is just a fan of her book that appeared just in time to save her from some fanatical fans during a book reading.
As Adrien grows closer to Miranda, he is afraid that the fanatical fans are posing more danger than Miranda realizes and wants her to cancel the rest of her book tour but she refuses. Will Adrien be able to discover the danger that surrounds her before his deadline is up?
Adrien and Miranda were great characters that had so much heat between them that it made it nearly impossible to put the book down. The action and suspense that follow this couple was intense and satisfying while keeping the sexual tension at the forefront of the story.
First You Run is a fantastic story that I highly recommend!
