Poison

Poison by Joely Skye is a homoerotic romance.

Glen did everything he was supposed to in school and this is what he gets for it: an assignment as a spy on a world that is much less advanced than his world, Rimania, with questionable support. While on Rimania, Tobias is having his own troubles; he has never really felt he fit in with the other people of nobility. To make things even worse, Tobias has never cared for the things that others feel are important, especially women and marriage. Tobias is determined to uncover who killed his Uncle Perrin in spite of all the opposition against this. At the funeral, Tobias gets a glimpse of Geln and is stunned even though it appears that Geln is of the working class. Tobias becomes sick after he is poisoned and when he awakens he finds himself under questioning for the murder of his cousin Serge. Even through all his confusion, Tobias remembers Geln’s face when he gave him something to counteract the poison. The plot continues to spin out of control as Tobias begins to question all his beliefs and Geln has to fight for his life. The only thing that Tobias and Geln know for sure is that they have to trust in each other to find a way to survive as they start to explore their growing feelings for one another. Come follow Geln and Tobias as they learn that love can conquer all, even space.

Ms. Skye has created another delightful and spellbinding story about two star crossed lovers who have to overcome not only societal differences, but cultural differences from two worlds to hopefully find a love for all times. Prejudice is unfortunately one problem that exists in our society as it exists on Rimania. It was fascinating to see how Geln had to learn how to fit into Rimanian society so they wouldn’t find out he wasn’t from their world. I loved how Geln had to rely on his AI, Kleemach, a sophisticated computer that in reality was much, much more. It was interesting how at first Geln was treated terribly when he was questioned by the police, but after Kleemach, altered his background to become of noble descent and things were different. The twists and suspense in the story line held me spellbound as I watched the story unfold. Thanks go to Ms. Skye for another incredible story.
