Sea Island Wolves 1: Mating Claire

Claire Hallowell was working deep undercover in a small South Carolina town hunting a demon serial killer who had murdered numerous young women. In order to gain access to pertinent information that was needed to solve her case, Claire posed as Dorothy Walker and was hired as the new assistant to the town’s chief of police.

One whiff of her scent and Derek Jacob knew that he had met his mate – his new assistant, Dorothy Walker. As Alpha of his werewolf pack and the current police chief, Derek was accustomed to difficult challenges and that’s actually what he faced when he tried to claim Dorothy. Not even after Derek learned that Dorothy had lied about her true identity and the reasoning behind her move to his town did it deter Derek from staking his claim. As a matter of fact it made Derek even more determined to break through the ice that Claire had built around her heart.

In addition to the great sexual chemistry let’s not forget about the ever surrounding danger. As Claire and Derek worked together to stop a deadly serial killer, a new suspect entered the picture causing even more havoc and potential death. Will the couple be able to rid the world of a lethal destroyer before he claims another victim?

I am excited to say that Mating Claire was an excellent start to Jenny Penn’s Sea Island Wolves series. Mating Claire was brimming with a thrilling suspenseful plot and a blazing hot romance. This incredible storyline had a great mixture of humor, wittiness, sexiness, tension, passion, excitement, paranormal and treachery. Once I started reading I just had to continue well into the night eager to discover what would happen next.
