Dreaming of Harmony
Dreaming of Harmony is a homoerotic F/F story.
Erin May Beck discovers her obituary in the morning paper and feels her heart stop. The only difference is the year of her birth. When the deceased Erin May starts showing up in Erin’s dreams, she’s afraid she’s lost it completely. But the late Erin May isn’t about to let the young Erin make the same mistakes she did. Can Erin overcome her fears and seduce Harmony, the sexy woman across the street, or will she choose to die old and alone like the late Erin May?
This was a fun little romp from the talented Jade Buchanan. I’ve been a fan for a long time, and Dreaming of Harmony didn’t fail to please. I can completely understand how Erin felt; I too would be completely freaked out if I opened a paper to read the obituaries and found my own name staring back at me. But that’s just the impetus she needs to rethink the path her life has taken. Not much is given about Harmony other than her physical description but that’s fine. She is only there to emphasize the different choices Erin has to make in her life. She can choose the path of harmony with Harmony or be forever bereft and alone if she takes the other path. There was a sensual scene, and it was well written, as is always the case with Ms. Buchanan. It enhanced rather than detracted from the story and as is the case with all dreams, it allowed Erin to be freer than she would have been awake. Dreaming of Harmony just goes to show that love has no boundaries when it comes to race or gender.
