Wayback Texas: Delighting Miss Daisy

The Porters are a well known bunch in Wayback Texas. Daisy Porter owns and operates the only sweet treat bakery in town; her brother is a local carpenter and their sister is a Hollywood model.

In Wayback, everything moves at a slow pace. At least it does until Sam Howard blows into town expecting to open up his own ale shop. The only problem is that the delectable Ms. Porter is dead set against him. Can Daisy make Sam understand that the worst event in her life was a result of alcohol? How can Sam show Daisy his own life hasn’t been so perfect?

Delighting Miss Daisy by Abbey MacInnis is book four in the Wayback Texas series. This is the first book that I have read by Mrs. MacInnis and I thought it was a good read. Daisy is an everyday woman who has faced hard times. She is unsure of any intentions Sam might have and he has to work twice as hard to get past her defenses. Both are an equal match for each other. Both have faced heartbreak in the past and neither wants to go through it again. Throughout the book you catch glimpses of Daisy’s brother and sister so this book intertwines with their stories also. Mrs. MacInnis has penned a story that fits right in with the Wayback Texas series and I look forwarding to reading more books by this author!
