Ian and Braden Thomas return to the United States on a simple mission. They must find and extract Katie Buchanan, sister to Gabe, the teammate that betrayed them before he was killed. When they find Katie, they are in for the chase of their lives. She is not going quietly, nor is she giving them her trust. Ian and Braden find themselves chasing Katie and fighting for her life when a man who wants her dead, because she killed his brother, kidnaps her.

Ian and Braden know they are in even bigger trouble when their unstable condition becomes even more so around Katie. She calls to their inner beasts and they are nearly brought to their knees, fighting their inner cats while fighting the men who want her dead. Katie finally realizes that she can trust Ian and Braden, but her realization may have come too late to save her life, or the lives of Ian and Braden.

Into the Lair is the second book of the Falcon Mercenary series. I read the first book right before I read this one and was blown away. I loved it and could not wait to get my hands on this book, never knowing that Into the Lair could possibly be even better than the first.

Katie has always been left behind and has had a hard life. When her brother found out about her, she was already a teenager. Gabe did what he could for her and she was grateful to finally have someone who she could count on, even though he was in the military and lived miles away. Ian and Braden, who are in the first book of the series, are brothers. Ian is a little more gentle and caring and Braden is just wild and rough. They both scorched me in this book.

Into the Lair is a fast paced, action and sex packed book that left me trembling and breathless. Maya Banks has written another wonderful book and I cannot wait to read the next book in this series, as well as any other books she has available. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves erotic paranormal romance!
