Her Knight Before Christmas

Hannah Falcon is a museum curator with not much of a social life. Her passion is reserved for the world of Medieval History, and although she does dream of meeting Mr. Right someday, she expects that chances of that are pretty slim. When a blind date arranged by a nosey but well-intentioned friend comes to pick her up at the museum one night, Hannah gets a little more than she bargained for.

Sir Gavin of Rogueforth is a twelfth-century knight. His life has been devoted to serving his liege lord, and he has not made time for a life that includes family and marriage. When he saves the life of a witch and her daughter, the witch repays him by sending him into the future to protect Hannah and to find his destiny.

Hannah is a little taken aback when faced with this chain-mailled figure who spouts words like “fate” and “destiny,” but she is also charmed by him. Whether or not he actually is the knight he claims to be, he fits the mold of her Mr. Right. After a night of passion, she is determined to hang on to him for all she is worth. They come from different worlds – how can a twenty-first century woman and a twelfth-century knight make a life together? Has fate answered her dreams and given Hannah her very own knight, or will it snatch Gavin away from her and leave her once again alone?

Her Knight Before Christmas by Debora Dennis is a story for everyone who ever dreamed of a knight in shining armor. Sir Gavin of Rogueforth is that knight personified – he is big, strong, handsome, and a perfect gentleman, and readers will doubtless be as enchanted with him as Hannah is. Who wouldn’t be blown away by a man who declares that their fates are intertwined and that his destiny is to protect you? Although Gavin is from the twelfth century, he does not appear to be lacking any teeth or suffering any deficit of personal hygiene, which is another bonus in his favor. Hannah knows when she has found something worth keeping, and she has certainly found something worth keeping in Gavin. Readers will root for these two to overcome the nine century gap between them and to find a happy ending together.
