Alacazam

Alacazam is the third installment of Rhonda Plummer’s Spellbound series. I would strongly recommend reading the first two books, Hocus Pocus and Abracadabra before jumping into this one. The first book introduces you to the triplets who have very unusual magical powers with an old family curse thrown in. The curse has three things they cannot do—if any of the triplets use their powers for harm, personal gain, or make love to anyone other than their soul mate, they will lose their powers forever. This is Cinnamon’s story.

Cinnamon Prescott has the most demanding power of the three sisters—she can heal. At night when Cinnamon is trying to sleep, she unconsciously astral projects herself to the scene of accidents or anywhere else someone is injured. Sometimes, she saves a life. Other times she’s only there to provide support for an injured child while waiting for help. When Cinnamon travels she always wakes up weak and drained and has to consume large amounts of sugar to revive herself. Cinnamon also has a side business—she can hypnotize people and make them do whatever she asks! With all that, the last thing she needs is her fairy godmother, Salina, dressing her in revealing outfits and causing her more trouble! Jack is an undercover FBI agent who’s trying to bust an underground counterfeiting ring involving an old nemesis who has already died once. The last thing he needs right now is a steady relationship; he has enough trust issues as it is. Will Cinnamon decide to give up her powers to be with Jack? Or is he her soul mate?

I absolutely adored Alacazam! The triplets are all strong and talented women who aren’t afraid to tell you what they’re thinking or go out of their way to get what they want! So many parts of this story had me laughing out loud. I loved Salina! She had me cracking up every time she popped up in one of her crazy outfits. There were so many fun characters in this book that I would be here forever if I mentioned every one, but I will tell you that there was something about each one that had me in love with all of them! Cinnamon and Jack were two of the most fun characters I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know, even if they both had issues! Ms. Plummer has a talent for blending great story telling and fun, intriguing characters into each of her stories. If you enjoy reading romances with some mystery, a little paranormal and lots of humor then you should definitely pick up a copy of Alacazam! If you haven’t read Rhonda’s other two Spellbound novels - Hocus Pocus and Abracadabra - go grab your copies and start reading! I promise you won’t regret it!
