Through Topaz

Ember’s father has been kidnapped by a faery, Lilia. Ember uses her divining skills to learn how to rescue her father. Her bowl tells her the spell to use; along with a much-needed component she must have for the spell to be successful. That component is a Gnome, Dowan; and they must make sex magic together in order to complete the spell.

Ember takes a few months and moves into a cave and sets the spell up. She lures Dowan into her cave and captures him. Now that she has Dowan in her cave, will he forgive and trust her?

Dowan is a gnome who is attracted to humans. He has not had much opportunity to have a human woman. When he sees Ember through the wall of the cave, he cannot resist her and walks right into her trap. Lilia is a long-time enemy of all Gnomes and he is happy to help. The sex magic is no problem, since he cannot deny his immediate attraction to Ember, but can they conquer the powerful Lilia?

I thoroughly enjoyed Through Topaz, from the first page to the very last! Leona Grey created a magical world that jumped off the pages with vivid descriptions. Ember and Dowan are strong, magical characters and their passion for each other grabbed me and drew me into their world. Although Ms. Grey did not deeply develop any of the secondary characters, her main characters were so powerful for me that I did not mind the lack of development for the other characters. Through Topaz contains just enough sex and passion to heat things up and get me interested, but never enough to take away from the story. The few sex scenes were hot and quick, making them perfect for this short book. I would have loved for this book to be longer, for I really enjoyed Ember and Dowan and I would love to have read more about their future relationship. Through Topaz is Leona Grey’s first published book. I will be looking for more work from her in the future.
